STP 09-23-2015: Plenty of Clouds across the State, Accompanied by Rainfall for Many Locations

Issue Date: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015
Issue Time: 9:00 AM MDT

Summary:

The remnants of a tropical disturbance traveled across Colorado yesterday, bringing abundant clouds and much needed rain to many parts of the state. While no flooding issues were reported, moderate-to-heavy rainfall accompanied the stronger showers and thunderstorms, especially for portions of the Southeast Plains and Raton Ridge. Colorado Springs picked up on their first rainfall in weeks during the evening and nighttime hours. All in all, it is hard to complain about beneficial rain that occurs without flooding. A few showers are still ongoing across various portions of the state this morning.

STP 09-22-2015: Pleasant Day Overall, Showers Developed Overnight across Southwestern Colorado

Issue Date: Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015
Issue Time: 9:00 AM MDT

Summary:

The daytime hours were marked by above average warmth and sunshine, leading to a great Monday weather-wise. As the afternoon faded into the evening, high clouds began to push in across southern Colorado, followed by a thicker cloud deck overnight. Accompanying the thicker clouds overnight were scattered showers for the Southwest Slope, San Juan Mountains, and San Luis Valley regions. Light rain is all that the showers could muster, and a few are still ongoing at this time. Less than 0.25 inches has fallen across all locations, so no flooding has been observed.

STP 09-20-2015: Mainly Dry and Mild, Clouds Increased During the Afternoon/Evening

Issue Date: Sunday, September 20th, 2015
Issue Time: 9:00 AM MDT

Summary:

There isn’t much to discuss regarding yesterday’s precipitation as Mother Nature was unable to produce much more than a couple light showers and virga. A mid-level disturbance crossed the state during the afternoon/evening hours, but the dry air mass worked hard against it. The main effect was just an increase in mid-level clouds. Any showers that were able to develop over the High Country struggled to produce any more than a trace of precipitation.

No flash flooding was reported yesterday.
