This next wave of moisture will provide enough fuel for a few <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span>-to-<span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;widely scattered&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;10-25% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>widely scattered<\/span> showers\/thunderstorms over the High Country, and a couple <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span> showers\/storms over adjacent lower elevations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/WV_20180908.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8383 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/WV_20180908.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"509\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The best coverage, relatively speaking, will be north of I-70, where the influence of a passing disturbance will provide some support. Overall, there is no threat of <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;flash flooding&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph {&amp;quot;textColor&amp;quot;:&amp;quot;white&amp;quot;} --&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;p class=&amp;quot;has-white-color has-text-color&amp;quot;&amp;gt;flash flooding can refer to usually dry areas becoming rapidly inundated with water, or rapid water level rises on streams, creeks, or rivers beyond flood stage; typically caused by heavy rainfall, but can also be caused by meltwater&amp;lt;\/p&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>flash flooding<\/span> as the best moisture is confined to the mid-levels (with drier air near the surface) and there will be very little instability with which to work. Thus, gusty winds and light rain will be the main impacts. During the afternoon\/evening hours, a few clouds will bubble, especially over areas near the mountains. A couple of showers, and perhaps a thunderstorm or two will dot the area, mainly north of I-70 thanks to the presence of the passing disturbance. Gusty winds and light rainfall will be the main impacts from any activity, so no flood threat is the call today. Rainfall rates will generally be less than 0.15 inches\/hour, with maximum rates of 0.2-0.4 inches\/hour.<\/p>\n<p>Timing: 3 PM &ndash; 11 PM, with an <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span> shower\/thunderstorm or two lingering into the early morning hours over the Northeast Plains in association with the passing disturbance.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Front Range, Northern Mountains, Northwest Slope, Central Mountains, Southeast Mountains, Grand Valley, San Juan Mountains, Southwest Slope, and San Luis Valley:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The day will begin with plenty of sunshine, with clouds increasing over the higher terrain during the afternoon and evening hours in response to the increase in mid-level moisture.
