It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>precipitable water<\/span> to 150-200% of normal for June 5th, thanks to a deepening low pressure <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;trough&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;An elongated area of relatively low atmospheric pressure; the opposite of a ridge.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>trough<\/span> over the West Coast. This sent the moisture Colorado&rsquo;s way in the southwesterly flow, accompanied by multiple disturbances that fired off showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, overnight, and into this morning. Strong-to-<span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;severe thunderstorms&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Thunderstorms that produce a tornado, winds of at least 58 mph (50 kts) and\/or hail at least 1&amp;quot; in diameter.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>severe thunderstorms<\/span> were fairly common over the Urban Corridor, Northeastern Plains, Palmer Ridge, and Southeastern Plains, producing heavy rain, hail, and a few tornadoes. As far as severe storm reports are concerned, the following was reported to the local <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;NWS&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;National Weather Service&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>NWS<\/span> offices:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.0-inch hail<\/strong>: 3 miles SW of Strasburg and Ponderosa Park<br><strong>1.50-inch hail<\/strong>: 1 mile S of Parker<br><strong>1.75-inch hail<\/strong>: Genoa and 5 miles ENE of Shamrock<br><strong>Tornado<\/strong>: 4 miles SSW of Arickaree School and 6 miles E of Parker<\/p>\n<p>Due to heavy rainfall produced by stronger storms, street and intersection flooding was reported across portions of the Urban Corridor.
