Dry and warm conditions dominated the day as the upper ridge, and associated dry air, <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;capped&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The area where a parcel of air has negative buoyancy or sinks. The intensity of the cap is measured by its convective inhibition. If the cap is sufficiently large, it may prevent thunderstorms from forming at all.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>capped<\/span> off the environment and suppressed any potential development. A few streaks of <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;virga&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Wisps or streaks of precipitation falling out of a cloud that evaporate before reaching the surface. Virga can cause strong, but short-lived, localized winds (dry microburst).&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>virga<\/span> painted the sky during the late afternoon and evening, but that was all Mother Nature could muster. The map is updated daily during the operational season (May 1 &ndash; Sep 30) by 11AM.
