Southern Colorado, however, was the exception to the rule, with <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span> thunderstorms kicked off by the combination of strong daytime heating and orographic effects. Most showers\/storms that did develop resulted in mainly light rainfall accumulations and gusty winds, but as often happens in setups like this, El Paso, Pueblo, and Lincoln counties had thunderstorms &ldquo;overachieve.&rdquo; An <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;outflow boundary&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;A surface boundary formed by the horizontal spreading of thunderstorm-cooled air. Outflow boundaries may intersect with each other or with other features (fronts, dry line, low-level jet) and initiate new convection. Brief strong winds are possible with outflow boundaries, and they can also persist for more than 24 hours.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>outflow boundary<\/span> from thunderstorms further to the south enhanced moisture and surface convergence in those areas, sparking a couple strong thunderstorms during the later evening hours. From those thunderstorms, a couple storm reports were submitted to the <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;NWS&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;National Weather Service&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>NWS<\/span> office in Pueblo:<\/p>\n<p>4 miles north of the Peterson AFB: 1.1 inches of rain\/20 minutes<br>\n3 miles southwest of the Peterson AFB: 0.75 inch hail<br>\n7 miles southwest of Karval: 1.25 inch hail<\/p>\n<p>No flooding was reported yesterday.
