The chart below shows that Integrated <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;precipitable water&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The total atmospheric water vapor contained in a vertical column of the atmosphere. It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>Precipitable Water<\/span> (IPW) went from less than 0.2 inches to about 1.0 in a matter of 8-12 hours at the Boulder site (blue line). However, due to overhead ridge, storms were generally limited to the far eastern part of the state. Up to 1.6 inches of rainfall fell in <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span> locations in Yuma, Sedgwick and Phillips counties. At about the same time, upslope flow created a few weak storms along the Front Range with up to 0.5 inches of rainfall falling in Larimer and Boulder counties.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ipw.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2778\" src=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ipw.png\" alt=\"ipw\" width=\"587\" height=\"256\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, it was hot and dry on Friday. As of this morning, two confirmed fires have been reported in Colorado. A fire in Las Animas County was 5% contained as of yesterday. A 30-acre fire is ongoing in La Plate County (#217fire on Twitter).
