The ridging will help dry out the atmosphere just a bit, as well as suppress some afternoon\/evening <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;convection&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Refers to vertical atmospheric motion driven by buoyancy, i.e., warm air is less dense than cool air, and therefore rises. One of the primary drivers of thunderstorm development, especially during monsoon season.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>convection<\/span>. Although it won&rsquo;t be a completely dry day, the ridge will provide warmer temperatures than the last few days, getting high temperatures almost back to average for this time of year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IPW_20160519.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"  wp-image-2410 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/IPW_20160519.png\" alt=\"IPW_20160519\" width=\"529\" height=\"227\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The best coverage of showers and thunderstorms will be over the higher terrain and high valleys, with a few spilling over the adjacent lower elevations.
