It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>precipitable water<\/span>, on average, falls throughout the month of September. A quick glance at the IPW chart below shows a steady decrease in moisture over the last 4 days or so, and this pattern will continue today. The dry air mass over Colorado will warm quickly today, allowing temperatures to climb a few degrees higher than yesterday.
