It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>PW<\/span> at Grand Junction and Platteville were measured at 0.56 and 0.65 inches, respectively, so values remain below average. With subsidence and limited surface moisture continuing from yesterday, very little rainfall is expected. In fact, this may be our first dry day (statewide) since June 10th! The best chance for spoiling that dry day would be a high-based shower breaking the <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;cap&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The area where a parcel of air has negative buoyancy or sinks. The intensity of the cap is measured by its convective inhibition. If the cap is sufficiently large, it may prevent thunderstorms from forming at all.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>cap<\/span> over the mountains with this most likely to occur somewhere along and near the central and southern portions of <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Continental Divide&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph {&amp;quot;textColor&amp;quot;:&amp;quot;white&amp;quot;} --&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;p class=&amp;quot;has-white-color has-text-color&amp;quot;&amp;gt;the dividing line that separates the watersheds of the western and eastern United States; rivers west of the divide empty into the Pacific Ocean, while rivers east of the divide empty into the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico&amp;lt;\/p&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>Continental Divide<\/span>. Afternoon highs are expected to reach into the low 90s &deg;F over the Urban Corridor, Northeast Plains and western Southeast Plains. Outside of the possibility for an <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;isolated&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;less than 10% areal coverage&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>isolated<\/span> high-based storm or two over the southern Front Range and Southeast Mountains, it should remain dry. Flooding is NOT expected.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Central Mountains, Northern Mountains, San Juan Mountains, Southwest Slope, Northwest Slope &amp; Grand Valley:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Temperatures continue to run above normal with 90s &deg;F forecast for the lower elevation valleys and 70s &deg;F and 80s &deg;F forecast for the mountain valleys.
