This is shown beautifully in the visible satellite image below. Meanwhile, along and west of the <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Continental Divide&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph {&amp;quot;textColor&amp;quot;:&amp;quot;white&amp;quot;} --&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;p class=&amp;quot;has-white-color has-text-color&amp;quot;&amp;gt;the dividing line that separates the watersheds of the western and eastern United States; rivers west of the divide empty into the Pacific Ocean, while rivers east of the divide empty into the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico&amp;lt;\/p&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>Continental Divide<\/span>, clear skies abound.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vis_markup.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-17314 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vis_markup.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"775\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vis_markup.png 861w, https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vis_markup-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vis_markup-768x506.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 775px) 100vw, 775px\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The disturbance responsible for the recent precipitation will quickly move out of the state by early afternoon taking with it all remaining rain showers. <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;PW&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;(Stands for: Precipitable Water) The total atmospheric water vapor contained in a vertical column of the atmosphere. It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>PW<\/span> this morning showed a strong gradient across the state with Grand Junction at 0.43 inches while Denver was at 0.70 inches. With an incoming upper-level ridge, dry westerly flow will slowly erode the cloud deck over the eastern part of the state. However, keyword: slowly. Given the depth of the saturated atmosphere, clouds are expected to persist for a good part of the day over eastern and southern areas. As such, high temperatures will remain well below normal under areas with the most persistent cloud deck.<\/p>\n<p>To the west, seasonably cool temperatures and plenty of sunshine will make for a pleasant Wednesday.
