It is typically measured in inches, and anomalously (deviation from normal) high values of precipitable water generally correlate to heavy rainfall potential.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>PW<\/span> dropped off as much as 0.3 inches over the Northeast Plains after overnight rainfall on Saturday. Below are overnight low temperatures from the RAWS network (source: MesoWest). Not quite as cool as Saturday night, but still some chilly temperatures to wake up to. High temperatures on Sunday were actually 5-8&deg;F warmer than Saturday minus small areas over of the northern Northeast Plains and central Southeast Plains. The largest warm up was over the Front Range and Southeast Mountains. Overall, calm with clear skies, so hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy the weather.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/overnight_lows.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10940\" src=\"https:\/\/archive-coftb.dewberryanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/overnight_lows.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"501\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Autumn colors are expected to peak around the usual time (early to mid) October. I may lean&nbsp;a little closer towards mid-October due to the above average temperatures, especially in regards to overnight lows. According to the map below (produced by the Smoky Mountains website) there is already partial peaking occurring for most of the high terrains. An above average year (colors) is predicted due to the wet spring and heavy snowfall last winter. It will be interesting to see how the dry conditions over the last couple of months affect the colors over western Colorado. The map is updated daily during the operational season (May 1 &ndash; Sep 30) by 11AM. The following six layers are currently available: 24-hour, 48-hour and 72-hour total precipitation, as well as maximum 1-hour, 2-hour and 6-hour precipitation over the past 24 hour period (to estimate where <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;flash flooding&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph {&amp;quot;textColor&amp;quot;:&amp;quot;white&amp;quot;} --&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;p class=&amp;quot;has-white-color has-text-color&amp;quot;&amp;gt;flash flooding can refer to usually dry areas becoming rapidly inundated with water, or rapid water level rises on streams, creeks, or rivers beyond flood stage; typically caused by heavy rainfall, but can also be caused by meltwater&amp;lt;\/p&amp;gt;\n&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>flash flooding<\/span> may have occurred). The accumulation ending time is 7AM of the date shown in the bottom right corner. Also shown optionally are vulnerable fire burn areas (post 2012), which are updated throughout the season to include new, vulnerable burn areas.
